How to: Replace a PS/2 mouse.
Solution:
Turn off the computer, disconnect the old mouse, connect the new mouse to a PS/2 port, and turn on the computer.
NOTE: Install a PS/2 mouse driver if necessary.
NOTE: These steps assume that you are replacing a PS/2 mouse with a new PS/2 mouse.
1) Shut down Windows 95, and turn off the computer.
2) Unplug the old mouse from the PS/2 port at the back of the base unit.
3) Connect the new mouse to the same PS/2 port used by the old mouse.
4) Turn on the computer.
NOTE: If the new mouse is fully compatible with the old one, Windows 95 should detect and configure the new mouse using the installed mouse driver.
5) If the mouse was not auto-detected, install the mouse driver.
NOTE: The mouse installation disk may include a program that tests the mouse installation (typically named Test.com). Refer to the mouse installation manual for detailed configuration information.
